‘A Group of Hippies’ Took MAGFest From 200 Guests to 23,000

MAGFest started as a small music and gaming festival, but has leveled up its attendance dramatically.

This self-proclaimed “group of hippies” took an event they loved and built it into a full lineup of events and spinoffs, not to mention an exponential increase in attendance along the way.

Nick Marinelli, MAGFest’s executive director, recently appeared on the VIP Lounge podcast to share the story of this incredible journey.

He discussed the highs and lows he and his team experienced along the way, how the event has evolved over the years and offers advice to event organizers who want to see their shows grow.

Excellent interview – I was intrigued by how MAGFest’s philosophy shaped the event over the years. I owe MAGFest a debt of gratitude – signing up for a hotel for the event is how I found my job at Experient. As an attendee for 7 years, I’m glad to see its success and popularity grow. Keep up the great work!
